UNTITLED ( 15 WOOD PANELS)
Drilled wood panels, HDPE ( high density polyethylene)-plastic shavings, sawdust
96” X 196” X 6” (Installation dimensions variable)
On identical wood panels the drill is used as a tool to draw delicate indentations and through the process the marks are erased allowing the space to disappear. The progression metamorphoses into a delicate fragile structure ultimately reduced to a pile of sawdust. In conjunction with this piece, a pile of HDPE 9 (high-density Polyethylene - a plastic) is piled which on first glance looks like sawdust. The juxtaposition of the manmade versus the organic confronts and creates a dialogue within the installation.
